Finding a photographer was one of the most difficult vendors for us. We found so many talented photographers while researching, but we also found that most of them came with a hefty price tag. Then we found JLV Photography. Not only were we impressed by their portfolio, but found their pricing to be extremely reasonable and *gasp* within our budget! I called JLV to get an initial conversation started to see if we would be a good fit. I remember knowing right away that this would be our photographer after speaking with James. When I called him I had interrupted his afternoon of fishing with his son and father, but James still took a few minutes to answer my questions and have a chat with me. There was absolutely no pressure to book or set up a meeting. We ended up booking right away and setting up our engagement shoot. We had previously done an engagement shoot with another photographer and were displeased, so we came into the shoot with James with some high expectations. He was helpful at posing us and finding the locations that would look best instead of relying on us to pick out the spots and poses. Our engagement photos were returned back to us in a very short turn around and we loved the photos! On the big day James kept things light, he made suggestions where needed and listened to our wants and needs. Most importantly, he got all the major shots during the ceremony (first kiss, ring exchange, all the bridal party walking down the aisle, the giving away shot, and even a really cool "aerial" shot of the guests). He was so good half the time I didn't even realize he was taking photos of us! He told us it would take about 4 weeks to get the photos back, but I think it was only about 3 weeks when he contacted us to tell us they were ready. We got a disk full of all the photos he took and, to our surprise, a nice photo album with a bunch of printed shots (we were not expecting this). We are so happy we booked JLV and would recommend them to anyone!

They were great at making the kids look and smile for the camera. They went above and beyond - stayed an extra 30 min at no charge because they wanted to make sure they got photos of everything.
